Arcos: A new task and module for the use of an Arcos logger.

Arcos task

A new type of task has been added to upload ccmc files that describes what will be measured by a connected Arcos-logger (by Ipetronik). If the file already exists on the Arcos-logger no file need to be uploaded, instead the name of the existing file needs to be supplied. This is to get a representation in the WICE system of a already ongoing measurement. This enables result files to be found in the WICE portal. See Arcos-task.

Arcos module

There is also a new Arcos-module for adjusting the Arcos-configuration for a WCU. The following can be specified:

  • Username
  • Password
  • Front-end number
  • Debug level

See Configure the Arcos Module.

Tasks Panel: Sort on and search in more columns

Now the following columns can be sorted on the Search Fields Section of the Tasks Tab:

  • Task creator (also searchable)
  • Task owner (also searchable)
  • Creation date
  • Expire date

To learn more about searching read: Search columns with regular expressions

Tasks Panel: Improved panel 'Vehicle Info'

When selecting a row in the tasks panel the button 'View Vehicle' shows a dialog showing what the vehicle looked like at the time when the task was created. Read more here.

Support for selecting XCP or CCP for Area5 assignments.

Area5 read-outs can now be performed using either the CCP protocol over CAN (as before) or the XCP protocol over Ethernet. The selection of whether to use CCP or XCP is done in the Area5 assignment editor for each ECU. Read more here.

Support for DoIP for Active Signals in the Signal Reader Assignment Editor

From version 2.71, Signal Reader supports diagnostics over Ethernet/DoIP as well as over CAN. In the Signal Reader Assignment Editor the selection of whether to use CAN or DoIP for Active Signals is done in the Modules tab. For more information about this, see Signal Reader Assignment Editor.

Area5 decoding handles XCP-based read-outs and adds A2L filename to decoded files

When an Area5 output file is uploaded from a WCU it is interpreted using the A2L files corresponding to the ECUs of the Area5 assignment. From version 2.71 of the WCU software, the read-outs can be performed either using CCP or XCP. Depending on which protocol was used, the decoded area5 file will contain slightly different meta-information (e.g. CAN bus info, CAN identifiers, station address in the case of CCP, IP address and port for XCP).

From version 2.71 onwards, the decoded area5 file contains the filenames of the A2L files used for the decoding (for traceability purposes).

Uniqueness of signals names originating from DBC files is ensured

When creating Signal Reader assignments in the Assignment editor, signals selected from data sources based on DBC files are made sure to be unique. If the same name appears more than once, the second (and subsequent) name of the signal is made unique by means of a postfix string based on the frame id of the signal.
