For the MX-4 platform, the LED handling is as follows.

There are in total five (5) LEDs on the side of the unit (see image). Note that the color of the LEDs in addition to green is red OR yellow, depending on MX-4 platform type and/or revision.

The LEDs are handled as follows.

  1. Power LED
    The power LED is not managed at all by the WiCE components. Consult Host Mobility documentation.
  2. WiFi LED
    The WiFi LED is not managed at all by the WICE components. Consult Host Mobility documentation.
  3. GSM LED
    If the modem is powered off -> LED is off.
    If the WICE system has detected that there is no SIM card -> red/yellow fixed light.
    If the modem communication is working, but it has not yet attached to a carrier network -> green blink
    If the modem has attached to a carrier network -> green fixed light.
  4. GPS LED
    No data from the GPS -> LED is off.
    Data is coming from the GPS, but no fix is obtained -> green blink
    GPS fix is obtained -> fixed green light
  5. Func LED
    The WICE system is not running -> LED off.
    The SD card is missing, or read-only -> red/yellow, fixed light
    The time is before 2021 (some units boot with 1970, some with 2009 if the clock battery is drained) -> red/yellow blink
    Otherwise, fixed green light.
