This is because the preparation can take a considerable time and is therefore best done in the background. When using functions such as "Get file(s)" to download files they will first prepare and compile the files into a zip file for download. This is because the preparation can take a considerable time and is therefore best done in the background. When pressing download or get to download file(s) you will get a message telling you that your files are being prepared and you will be notified when it is ready, as shown in the figure below.
When the preparation is done and your files are ready for download, the following message will be shown in conjunction with the download icon in the tool strip.
